[edit] reworking
"Although you may think this song doesn't fit in it does. It tells of the state that Jesus of Suburbia grew up in due to the American economy and everything going on. We also see in songs like 'Holiday' that he truly loathes the U.S. government and the President." First person and horribly choppy style. Major reworking of that entire section is needed. Any takers? I'n not nearly interested enough to try it. Vonspringer 21:21, 30 May 2005 (UTC)
- I noticed that too before hitting the talk page and reworded that paragraph. The rest of those "we see"'s need to be re-phrased. This needs some cleanup. Especially the line, ""The representative from California" (meaning Ah-nuld the Governor)", which I'm just going to remove, as that's inferring way more than the song actually says! [edit] Movie
If there was a movie I'd see it but I'm not sure it would appeal to people who havn't heard the album. Is it really a good idea?
I'd certainly want to see it! It is really quite a good story, could possibly be very moving... would almost certainly feature a Green Day/punk rock soundtrack and besides, it's a movie by Green Day! I don't know anyone who doesn't like Green Day to be honest (I know they exist, but they shouldn't) and I'm sure that a lot of people who like the band would watch it.
I think that the storyline that's posted here is a bit too influenced by Fight Club. I don't believe that Jesus/Jimmy are alter egos, but really two different people (hence, how Jimmy can "blow his brains into the bay" in Track 12). Other than that, it seems pretty good, though.

- Rest of the album, though, really makes it sound like a transformation. Besides, the Fight Club comparison, if anything, makes it even more accurate. Of course, you can also interpret that in a less literal sense for it to be logical. Krupo July 9, 2005 18:29 (UTC)
- "I don't know anyone who doesn't like Green Day to be honest (I know they exist, but they shouldn't)" who the hell are you? If you don't know anyone who hates them, I'm shocked. Truly, truly shocked.EAB 23:43, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] confirmation
Where did Green Day confirm there was going to be a movie? this is a serious question that needs to be adressed, otherwise this article should be deleted. After an extensive google search and a search of Green Day's official website mentioned nothing about a movie. Cpl.Luke 21:58, 10 July 2005 (UTC)
Is it just me or is this page just not the same. When I checkout the earlier versions they were MUCH better. This is when admin/mod powers go to their head. Let people make it how they want to. When is someone going to use this as an "official" document?
[edit] This article should be deleted
The fact that the first line includes "rumour" in it should be the kicker. Wikipedia is a place for solid facts, not speculation and grist for rumour mills. If this article exists, then one should exist about the long rumoured film based on System of a Down's Hypnotize and Mesmerize albums, even though the band has merely stated they'd like to turn them into a movie. This is simply ridiculous. There needs to be a movie, and thats all I'm saying.

Well, I'm deleteing that part since at the end of the article, the quote says that this will happen (the movie). --ASDFGHJKL 16:29, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Is this ever going to happen?
Will the movie ever come anyway? Jamo 03:09, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
- it's a rumor, and I hope it stays that wayEAB 23:37, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
Probably around next year, hopefully. I'd like to see it when it comes out.--Skater kidd
