Amethi

Amethi is a place in Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, in the south-western part of Sultanpur.

It is known as the seat of power of the Indian Nehru-Gandhi political dynasty. Jawaharlal Nehru and both the sons of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, Sanjay Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, held this seat. In 2004, Sonia Gandhi's son, Rahul Gandhi, won the seat in the 2004 general elections. As an educational hub of the area it has got Indian Institute of Information Technology and Rajarshi Rananjay Post Graduate College .
