American University of Central Asia

The American University of Central Asia (AUCA) is a selective liberal arts University based upon the American model and located in the former Soviet republic of Kyrgyzstan. The mission of the University is to promote civil society in this part of the world, to train a new generation of leadership for Central Asia and the CIS, and to introduce new pedagogical methods to Kyrgyzstan.
The American University is chartered in Kyrgyzstan and is authorized by the Kyrgyz Ministry of Education to offer the Kyrgyz National Diploma in eleven undergraduate programs and one graduate program, an MBA. AUCA also offers the American University Baccalaureate degree. Students are required to take courses in both Russian and English, and applicants who are deficient in one of these languages may do intensive language study during the course of preparatory program.
AUCA’s historic campus is located in the center of the Kyrgyz capital city, Bishkek, surrounded by cafes, parks, and stately government structures. Kyrgyzstan is known for its spectacular natural resources-soaring mountain peaks, white water rivers, and pristine lakes. Recreational opportunities: skiing, hiking, mountain climbing, white water rafting-abound.
AUCA has developed a reputation as one of the premier institutions in Central Asia, and its graduates easily find employment in local and international companies and organizations around the globe and are routinely accepted at leading graduate schools in the United States and Europe, including Georgetown University, Yale, the Fletcher School at Tufts, West Point, Indiana University, Thunderbird - The Garvin School of International Management, the London School of Economics, Central European University, and many others.
