American Music Institute (also referred to as AMI) is a non-profit private music school located in the Chicago west suburbs of Hinsdale, IL and St. Charles, IL. Currently, the school is home to hundreds of students ranging in age from 2 years - 50 + years. AMI is currently home to the Articus Youth Orchestra and AMI Conservatory Program. Additionally, the Versailles String Quartet is currently in resident at AMI.
Most students at the American Music Institute take private lessons and group classes on instruments such as violin, piano and voice. AMI is committed to providing quality education throughout the Chicago area. Community involvement includes an outreach program for low-income students called Music For Life, a bi-annual music competition (AMI Solo Competition) that is open to all young musicians and a summer music camp called the Hinsdale Summer Music Festival.
American Music Institute is home to a variety of accomplished teachers including internationally acclaimed Macedonian pianist Ivana Ristova (First prize winner of the Vignola Piano Competition in Italy), and violinst Remus Badea (pupil of Dorothy Delay).
