First published in 1978, American Caesar: Douglas MacArthur, 1880-1964 is a biography of General of the Armies Douglas MacArthur. Its author is William Manchester, a U.S. Marine veteran who fought in the Pacific Theater during World War Two. A more comprehensive account can be found in Old Soldiers Never Die by Geoffrey Perret.
