I'm Allen McBride, from Oak Ridge, Tennessee. I've been active on Wikipedia since December 2005, and I often focus on articles about folk music, biology, and politics. Processes I'm involved in vary, but I'm often involved in NPOV discussions on talk pages, and lately I've been spending time at the reference desk. I take male pronouns... I know most English speakers can guess that from my name, but it helps me when other editors put their preferred pronouns on their user pages, so I thought I would too.

Articles I think should be here, and that I hope to create eventually if no one else does:

  • William L. Russell and Liane B. Russell, husband and wife team of geneticists, pioneers in sex chromosomes and radiation effects. [1]
  • Our Southern Highlanders, classic account of life in Southern Appalachia by Horace Kephart [2]
  • Tex Logan, engineer, songwriter, fiddler, author of "Christmas Time's a-Coming", covered by Emmylou Harris
  • Bob Coltman, author of "Lonesome Robin", covered by Guy Carawan [3]
  • David Carkeet, author of Campus Sexpot: A Memoir [4]
