AMC 3

AMC-3 (formerly GE-3) is a geostationary Lockheed Martin A2100A communications satellite owned by SES Americom. It was launched on September 4, 1997 from Cape Canaveral aboard an Atlas IIAS launch vehicle and is situated at 87° west longitude, providing coverage of North America with twenty-four C band transponders of 12-18 watts each, and the same number of Ku band transponders with amplifier powers of 60 watts. Current users in October 2005 include Fox Sports Net and PBS, among other services.

The satellite has an expected lifetime of at least 15 years.
