[edit] Nominating an article as selected article

  1. Check the selected article criteria and make sure the article meets all of them before nominating.
  2. Place {{pisac}} on the talk page of the nominated article.
  3. From there, click on the "leave comments" link.
  4. (If you are resubmitting an article) Use the Move button to rename the previous nomination to an archive. For example, Portal:India/Selected article candidates/Television → Portal:India/Selected article candidates/Television/archive1
  5. Place ===[[name of nominated article]]=== at the top.
  6. Below it, write your reason for nominating the article.
  7. Finally, place {{Portal:India/Selected article candidates/name of nominated article}} at the top of the list of nominees on this page by first copying the above, clicking "edit" on the top of the page, and then pasting, making sure to add the name of the nominated article.

[edit] Promoting an article as selected article

  1. Make sure that the article has been up for discussions on the WP:PINSAC page for at least seven days (two days for already featured articles).
  2. Edit the nominations section of the candidates page, and cut the article's entry. Paste it on top of the archive page's successful nominations section.
  3. Add {{Indian selected}} to the article's talk page, replacing the nominations template.
  4. Add the article to Portal:India/Selected articles under relevant section. Bold the entry for articles that are already featured. Update the count on top of the page.
  5. Add #{{pinsas|ARTICLE NAME|Never}} in the alphabetical listing of Selected Articles in the Summary page.
  6. Click the generated red-link (Summary) of the corresponding article, and add summary using the format used by other selected articles present in the list.

[edit] Removing articles failing to get selected

  1. Make sure that the article has been up for discussions on the WP:PINSAC page for at least seven days (two days for already featured articles).
  2. Edit the nominations section of the candidates page, and cut the article's entry. Paste it on top of the archive page's unsuccessful nominations section.
  3. Remove the {{pisac}} from the article's talk page.

[edit] Scheduling article for main page of the portal

  1. Open the monthly archive page.
  2. Click View for the day the scheduling needs to be done.
  3. Edit the page, and replace all lines uptil (and including) the {{PITSAempty}} with {{Portal:India/Selected articles/SC Summary/SA ARTICLE NAME}}. Replace "ARTICLE NAME" with the title of the article to be selected. Update the {{PITSAfooter}} with entries that appeared before that day in yes (yesterday), dbyes(day before yesterday), and dbdbyes (day before day before yesterday).
  4. Update the last parameter in the article's entry in the selected content summary page with the date at which the article was scheduled to appear.

  1. Create a new subpage named  Portal:India/Selected picture candidates/ExampleName
  2. Copy the following content into the new blank subpage:

[edit] Scheduling picture for main page of the portal

  1. Open the yearly archive page.
  2. Scroll down to find the last week till which image selection has been made. Edit the

next week's page. Replace "LAST_WEEK_PLUS_ONE" in the link above with the number following the last week's.

  1. Add the following to the page:

{{Portal:India/SC Summary/SP PICTURE NAME}}[[Portal:India/Picture of the week, 2006|Archive]]''' - [[Portal:India/Selected picture candidates|Nominate a new picture]]

|} Replace "PICTURE NAME" with the title of the picture to be selected.

  1. Update the last parameter in the picture's entry in the selected content summary page with the date at which the week it was scheduled to appear ends.
