[edit] THE SPICE GIRL OF CONGRESS

She was known for her proximity to Sanjay Gandhi in the late '70s. Polished and pro-active, she has Sonia's ears. Fluent communication skills and telegenic exterior add to her stature. Following in her leader's footsteps, she turned down a berth in the Union Cabinet to work for the party.

Soni has been assigned the difficult task of enforcing discipline in the faction-ridden Congress in Kerala. Ambika was recently elected to the Rajya Sabha from Punjab, her home state. Is also a contender for the chief ministerial slot in the state should Amarinder Singh falter.
