Amblycipitidae is a family of catfishes, commonly known as loach catfishes or torrent catfishes.
Members of this family feature a long cigar-shaped or loach-like body with four barbels positioned in a similar fashion to those found in loaches. These four thick and long nasal barbels are reminiscent of North American catfishes.
These kinds of fishes can be found in Southern Asia, China and Japan.
