Alvis Salamander

The Alvis Salamander FV651/652 Fire Crash Tender is an Airport Crash Tender with off-road capabilities, developed in 1956. It shares its six-wheel-drive chassis and other components with the Saladin, Saracen and Stalwart military vehicles.

125 Salamanders were built and used in the Royal Air Force and the Royal Canadian Air Force. From the late 1970ies on they were replaced by vehicles like the Thronycroft Nubian Major.
