Alva Xar is the name of a comic book supervillain of the type of scientific mastermind. He has appeared in DC Comics' titles "Mystery in Space" and "Strange Adventures" in the stories featuring Adam Strange, who is his opponent. A bald, male humanoid native of the fictional planet Rann, he was born many hundreds of years ago and took over the planet, but was overthrown and hid in suspended animation. Recently he has revived and his goal is to take over that planet again.
