Talk:Alternative Press (music magazine)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Unfortunately, most of the links here are expecting it to be about Alternative Press the record label. Disambiguation? Morwen 17:12, May 22, 2004 (UTC)
Fair point. Meaning this should be listed under Alternative Media (which will make some of the language less clanky too)? So I'll put a stub under Alternative Press, relocate this article under Alternative Media and trawl the Alternative Press links to make them direct to Alternative Media instead if that is their intention. Make sense? Camipco 20:40, May 22, 2004
- For the alternative press, I would suggest the use of the lowercase form alternative press? Morwen 20:43, May 22, 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Proposed changes
The broad category Alternative press should not have been moved to Alternative media. Perhaps we need a disambiguation page. There are dozens of books on the alternative press (print) around the world. How about:
- Alternative press
- Alternative Press (magazine)
- Alternative Press (record label)
- Alternative media
I will wait a week or so for comments.--Cberlet 15:57, 17 Apr 2005 (UTC)
I just ran into this page and will definitely look into over-hauling it. We should just redirect/merge this page to Alternative Press (magazine). I'm going to look into what I can do for this article. We definitely do need a disambig. page as well. -Myxomatosis 08:45, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Recent Issues
should be listed with the most recent at the top?? is there a standard for this? 38.115.160.250 16:19, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Removal
- I removed the current staff section as it was unencyclopedic (look at Time (magazine) as an example. It was:
==Current staff== PRESIDENT/FOUNDER: Mike Shea
PUBLISHER: Norman Wonderly
GENERAL MANAGER: Katherine Poecze
PHOTOGRAPHY EDITOR/PRODUCTION DIRECTOR: Norman Wonderly
EDITOR IN CHIEF: Jason Pettigrew
MANAGING EDITOR: Leslie Simon
MUSIC EDITOR: Scott Heisel
ASSOCIATE EDITOR: Tim Karan
COPY EDITOR: Rachel Lux
ART DIRECTOR: Christopher Benton
ART/ASSOCIATE/WEBMASTER: Robert Ortenzi
PRODUCTION MANAGER: John Millin
ART/PRODUCTION ASSISTANT: Ted Barnes
ASSISTANT AD DIRECTOR/ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE (MUSIC): Dawn Marie Burns
MARKETING DIRECTOR/ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE (INDIE FASHION/APPAREL): Aaron Wilson
ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE (ELECTRONICS/VIDEO GAMES): Jessie Kelkenberg
ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE (FOOD/BEVERAGES/AUTO): Chris Helscher
SUBSCRIPTIONS MANAGER: Angela Hetrick
OFFICE ASSISTANT: Eddie Fleisher
- I also removed the recent issue section as it was also unencyclopedic. It could easily go to perhaps List of issues of Alternative Press or something similar like Person of the Year.

I'm confused. Is this only photocopies online, or can you actually have it sent to you once a month through the mail? Cuz, if it can be sent through the mail, I'd really like to get it. íslenskur fellibylur #12 (samtal) 02:07, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
