Altındağ

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Altındağ is a metropolitan district of Ankara Province of Turkey. The district's territory partly covers the area corresponding to the older "Ankara" that was merely a regional Ottoman center-town before the city's having become the capital of the Republic of Turkey. It remains one of the poorer quarters of the capital, home to families with modest income, although some parts of it are quite picturesque and there has recently been investments in restoration work to put Altındağ's tissue to better value.

With its rich architectural heritage, Altındağ is a member of the Norwich-based European Association of Historic Towns and Regions [1].
