[edit] Other violent incidents at Alrosa
According to the December 10, 2004 edition of The Columbus Dispatch, on January 25, 2004, two special duty Columbus, Ohio police officers heard shots fired in a parking lot across the street from The Alrosa Villa. On January 1, 2003, a fight inside the club spilled into the parking lot and shots were fired. Four people were wounded.
[edit] Area surrounding Alrosa
I meant to tone down the original "sometines called one of the more dangerous neighborhoods in the country". I put it in the original article as a placeholder but neglected to revise it. A thousand apologies! However, I do believe the reference is valid -- if I can dig it up, I'll post a link. Even with a reference, I didn't intend to use it in the final text because I have my doubts -- however, the immediate area is crime ridden and has had plenty of shootings, including other multiple murders. The general neighborhood has also been the site of several recent terrorist-related investigations (for whatever that's worth), including the guy who was arrested within the past year for plotting to blow up a suburban Columbus mall.
