[edit] Inconsistency
If Alpha was only terraformed under the Empire, how could it later be identified as a possible world of origin? Particularly since the only dry land was one small island.
I assume that this arises from Asimov's merger of two series that were originally separate. --GwydionM 14:38, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

- Added the bit about the inconsistency to the main entry, along with a spoiler alert since it does give away the likely ending. One might also ask, why did the Spacers miss 61 Cygni, if it had a usable world? --GwydionM 18:18, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

- Keep in mind of course that Lord Dorwin's statement was far removed from actual observation -- he read books written by scholars who had only read books. It seems plausible that a theory that was only vaguely hinted at in some text could have been re-interpreted as having more weight behind it by Dorwin or other scholars.
