Alpha Gruis (α Gru / α Gruis) is the brighest star in the constellation Grus. It also has the traditional name Al Na'ir (also known as Al Nair or Alnair, from the Arabic meaning "the light" or "the bright one") and is also known with the name The Persian[1]. Confusingly, Alnair is also a name for Zeta Centauri.
