Alpha is a village in Iron County of the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the village population was 198. The village is in Mastodon Township.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 2.6 km² (1.0 mi²). 2.4 km² (0.9 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.1 mi²) of it (5.05%) is water.

As of the census2 of 2000, there were 198 people, 89 households, and 50 families residing in the village. The population density was 81.3/km² (210.6/mi²). There were 118 housing units at an average density of 48.5/km² (125.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the village was 99.49% White, and 0.51% from two or more races.
There were 89 households out of which 28.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 42.7% were married couples living together, 6.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 43.8% were non-families. 40.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 28.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.22 and the average family size was 3.00.
In the village the population was spread out with 25.3% under the age of 18, 7.1% from 18 to 24, 25.3% from 25 to 44, 17.2% from 45 to 64, and 25.3% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females there were 106.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 108.5 males.
The median income for a household in the village was $21,750, and the median income for a family was $27,917. Males had a median income of $20,750 versus $23,750 for females. The per capita income for the village was $12,084. About 7.0% of families and 11.0% of the population were below the poverty line, including 7.1% of those under the age of eighteen and 5.4% of those sixty five or over.
