All-style Fighting Competition

All-style Fighting Competition (AFC) is a Filipino full contact mixed martial arts sport. It was formulated and founded by Jendo founder and originator Grandmaster Jonathan Makiling. Makiling is also known as Jonathan "June" Makiling Abaya.

AFC is a combative fighting sport that involves sparring using punches, kicks, throwing, grappling and ground-pinning tehcniques. The sport was founded in the Municipality of Mandaluyong in 1985 and was first publicly demonstrated during the First Mandaluyong Regional Invitational Martial Arts Tournament in 1994.

Among the personalities present during its first public demonstration were the then Philippine Olympic Committee President - General Rene Cruz, the then Philippine Karatedo President - Pcholo Veguillas, National Bureau of Investigation Director - Mariano Mison, former Baras Mayor Meliton C. Geronimo and Philippine Commission on Election Benjamin C. Abalos Sr.

The AFC sport and its governing body, the Philippine Full Contact Self Defense Federation was screened and approved by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) for registration with the Securities and Exchange Commision (SEC) in September of 1996.
