Alibaba.com "Global Trade starts here..." (Zh: 阿里巴巴) is a Hong Kong-based e-commerce/e-auction company serving both Chinese customers in their native language and/or English-speaking customers who wish to do business with Chinese sellers.

The website specializes in wholesale products. Users can find a list of retailers that sell a wide variety of wholesale products from books to iPods.

In August 11, 2005, Yahoo! announced that it would purchase a 40% stake in the company for US$1bn plus Yahoo!'s Chinese assets (worth about US $700M). Alibaba will take charge of Yahoo! China, and founder Ma Yun (Jack Ma) will remain.
