Ali Mohamed Shein

Ali Mohamed Shein (b. 13 March 1948) has been Vice-President of Tanzania since 13 July 2001. Originally from the island of Pemba, Shein is a member of the ruling party, Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM).
The President of the United Republic of Tanzania appointed Shein to be the Vice President of the United Republic of Tanzania. Shein was sworn in by the Chief Justice at 3.00 p.m.(13/07/2001) at the Parliament Grounds, Dodoma.
