Alexei Zhitnik (Ukrainian: Олексій Житник, Oleksiy Zhytnyk, Russian: Алексей Житник), b. 10 October 1972 in Kiev, U.S.S.R. (now Ukraine), is a Ukrainian-born ice hockey defenseman who represents Russia in international tournaments and who currently plays for the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League. He is an alternate captain for the Islanders.
Zhitnik was drafted 81st overall by the Los Angeles Kings in the 1991 NHL Entry Draft.
