Alexander Boarman

The Honorable Alexander 'Aleck' Boarman (10 December 1839-30 August 1916) was appointed chief judge of the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana, United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, in 1881. He was the first person to hold this judicial seat [1].

Born in Yazoo City, Mississippi, he studied law at the University of Kentucky, gaining his degree in 1860 [2].
He is buried in the Oakland cemetary of Shreveport, Louisiana, although he died in Franklin County, New York. [3] [4]
