The Alexander is a sweet gin-based cocktail. It contains gin, creme de cacao, and half and half, in the following proportions, mixed in a cocktail shaker with ice and poured into a cocktail glass. This is the original Alexander, and is figured to be the father to the White Russian. The Brand Alexander is a variation of it.

1 oz gin
1 oz creme de cacao
1 oz half-and-half

It is sometimes garnished with grated nutmeg or cinnamon.
