Alex Young was a musician who was a founding father of Big Beat and erstwhile collaborator with Kevin Ford.

The musician Alex Young has been responsible for some of the most avante garde Big Beat ever recorded. While contemporaries such as Banco de Gaia and Soft Machine played more commercial music of this style, Alex Young's collaboration with experimental performers such as Alan Angel earned him critical acclaim.
