Alex Thomson

Alexander James Thomson (born December 22, 1960) is a UK television journalist and newscaster.

Educated at University College, Oxford, he has worked for BBC television and radio in Northern Ireland. In addition, he has written books on India and the Gulf War. in 1997, he won the Home News Award at the Royal Television Society Journalism Awards for his reporting on Bloody Sunday. His current role is as television presenter and chief correspondent for Channel 4 News, part of ITN. He has covered fifeteen wars as well as other major conflicts international while at ITN.

Thomson's partner is the investigative television reporter Sarah Spiller. They have twin sons and live in Essex.
