Alex Rodrigo Dias da Costa (born June 17, 1982) is a Brazilian football (soccer) player born in Niterói, Brazil. He currently plays as a defender for PSV Eindhoven. He started his career in Santos of Brazil in the 2002-2004 Brazilian season he then transfer to PSV Eindhoven in the 2004 season.However Alex is currently on loan at PSV, because he is actually owned by Chelsea F.C. Alex spent the 2005/2006 season at PSV and the Dutch club has confirmed he will prolong his stay in Holland for the duration of the 2006/2007 season.
Alex is known among PSV fans for his great strength and his imposing appearance. His nickame is 'The Tank'. PSV Eindhoven are currently looking for an option to sign the defender from Chelsea F.C..
