[edit] Season 3
[edit] The Rebel
Alex first appeared as Jay Hogart's equally rebellious girlfriend. She was always seen with Jay, and didn't have much development. She became a key character when she began to feud with Emma Nelson. The feud quickly became a hallway brawl when Emma sparked a fight. Her dislike of Emma was her first and foremost element.
[edit] Season 4
[edit] Surprise Vice-Presidency
Alex decides to run against Marco Del Rossi for class president. Her main campaign is that she was a "freak". She threatens to reveal Marco's homosexuality to the entire student body during her speech, but Marco says she has a chance to win the election "for real". She keeps his homosexuality a secret (possibly a foreshadowing element to her future lesbianism). Marco wins the election and happily makes Alex his vice-president. This title has her interacting more with Marco and Ellie Nash who quickly become her friends.
[edit] Working with Paige
When Paige Michalchuk needs a job to pay for Spinner's car, she decides to work at a movie theater in the mall. When she realizes she has to work with Alex, she isn't pleased. Alex and Paige have friction at first, but soon grow to respect each other and become friends. Paige often goes to Alex for advice during Season 4.
[edit] Violent Acts
Although she never really met Rick, Alex already hates him because of his violence to Terri. She later tells Emma that her mother and herself are abused sometimes by her mother's drunken boyfriends, which explains why she hates him. Alex later is part of Jay and Spinner's plan to get revenge on Rick. They conspire to dump paint on him during a game show he, Emma, Jimmy, and Toby participate in.
She was the only one of the three who conspired to dump the paint on Rick to get off scott free. Spinner, most likely, does not reveal her name to Ms. Hatzilakos, because she didn't help convince Rick that Jimmy was behind the paint.
[edit] Getting Gonorrhea and Losing Love
When Alex feels sick, she goes for a check up at the doctor. She soon learns that she has contracted gonnorhea. Confused about how Jay could have given her gonnorhea if she was his only partner, he reveals he's been receiving oral sex from other girls in the ravine. When Alex realizes one of the girls is her best friend Amy, a brawl ensues during rehearsal of their rendition of Dracula. Alex, subsequently, ends her friendship with Amy and breaks up with Jay.
Alex never learns that Jay had been seeing Emma Nelson too.
[edit] Season 5
[edit] Getting High
Paige's ex-boyfriend Matt returns to break up with her, but leaves her with a parting gift — marijuana. Meanwhile, Paige encourages Alex to look for a good university to attend after graduation. Alex agrees to attend the college fair if Paige gets high with her. Paige almost sabotages her college career when she arrives at her prospective college interview high.
[edit] Relationship with Paige
When 'Jay and Silent Bob Go Canadian, Eh?' premieres, Alex is excited to go. Paige is reluctant to go because she was cut out of the movie. Alex finally convinces her to come, and to get into the "real after-party" they pretend to be a gay couple. Inside, they begin to dance provocatively in the middle of the floor. Alex walks Paige home, and they stop by Alex's house. Paige chats with Alex's mother, who mentions that Alex talks about Paige all the time. Later, Alex begins to talk to Paige about when they were dancing together, but gets interrupted by her mother's boyfriend yelling and accidentally knocking her over an end table. They head to Paige's house and Alex explains how good it feels to be there, away from the chaos of her own house. They kiss, and Paige is very confused, pretending it didn't happen and insisting she'll sleep on the couch.
The next morning, Paige refuses to talk about the kiss and says she just can't deal with what's happening. In class, they agree to meet at the laneway. There, Paige says being around Alex makes her laugh and Alex says being Paige makes her a better person. They kiss, and Jay catches a glimpse. Jay tells Hazel, who confronts Paige and asks if she turned gay and didn't tell her. Paige is caught off-guard and says she just got caught up in the moment and Alex means nothing to her. Alex overhears and is extremely hurt. After talking to Kevin Smith about the situation, Paige decides to stop caring about what other people think, and pursue a relationship with Alex. They begin to date.
[edit] Hatred for Hazel
Alex and Hazel greatly dislike each other, but Paige urges the girls to be nicer to each other because they are both important to her. In an attempt to bond, the trio goes on a shopping trip. After Hazel makes a comment about Alex not being able to afford some of the clothes, a fight breaks out between them. Paige is tired of the fighting and stops talking to both of them. They decide to stop fighting, and invite Paige to hang out with them. A humorous and playful cappucino fight ensues, after which the three girls end up laughing about it in the mall security office.
[edit] A Rocky Break Up
As graduation nears, Paige insists more than ever that Alex plan what to do after high school. She refuses, and says that she's not on the same time table Paige is and has to do things when they're right for her. She's not sure what she wants to do, but she doesn't want to follow Paige to college and be her "lapdog". As the fight reaches a climax, Alex decides to break up with Paige. They are both hurt, and reveal their broken hearts to old friends. For Paige, it's Spinner, but Alex comes home to find Jay at her door. She lets him in, but when he tries to rekindle an old flame she pushes him away, stating for the first time that she is a lesbian. He backs off, and is sincere in cheering her up.
Alex proves that she doesn't harbor any hatred toward Paige by hugging her at graduation. Alex is currently appearing in Season 6.
[edit] Season 6
[edit] Returning to Degrassi
As it is revealed in the episode "Working for the Weekend" Alex has returned to Degrassi to earn more creds for university, as she now has an interest in becoming a physiotherapist.
Alex joined the lacrosse team, but is while trying to make friends she meets a girl named Serena whom she used to torment. (Alex almost blinded her with a laser pointer during a debate, and later on tripped her, spraining her ankle in the process.) Alex does not remember having done such actions to her.
