Alex Gidman

Alex Gidman (born June 22, 1981 in High Wycombe) is an English cricketer. Nicknamed 'Gidders,' he is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-pace bowler. Having established himself for Gloucestershire in 2003 he was beset by injury following Rod Marsh's decision that Gidman should captain the English team in Malaysia. He currently takes the number 5 shirt in the Gloucestershire Gladiators squad.

He continued to perform well in 2004 and was included in England's squad for the Champions' Trophy in 2004. Gidman's brother William is also a cricketer.
