Alex Forsyth (footballer)

Alex Forsyth (born February 5, 1952 in Swinton, Glasgow) was a Scottish football player. He played in right-back.
Forsyth was a member of the famous Partick Thistle team of 1971 which defeated Celtic in the League Cup final 4–1. He came to Manchester United in December 1972 for £100,000. He helped United win the 1977 FA Cup. In 1978, he left United to sign for the Glasgow giants Rangers on a free transfer. During his time at United, he scored 5 goals in 119 appearances, including 3 substitute appearances for the club, and also played for the Scottish national team.
