Alessio Sakara

Alessio Sakara is a MMA fighter who specializes in Western Boxing and Brazilian Juijutsu. He is currently under sponsorship of KNOXX MMA Geartm. He has a combined MMA record of 10-4-1.

Alessio Sakara was born in Rome, Italy on September 2nd, 1981. When he was 5 he began to play football (soccer) as a midfielder. After realising that in order to be a football player on a professional level he needed to know how to defend himself in case of a confrontation on the field, so Sakara began to take boxing. In the beginning, Sakara continued to play football and box, but after being penalized for fighting during a football tournament, he decided that he couldn't continue boxing and football. After 2 years of train Sakara competed in his first boxing tournament, took first. Several years later after going pro in boxing,a friend showed him a video of a Vale Tudo tournament by the name of the UFC, he was immediately hooked. To supplement his training, he traveled to Brazil where he met Roberto Almeida Meneguetti, who was a Brazilian Juijutsu black-belt. Together they crosstrained together, Sakara teaching Meneguetti boxing, and Meneguetti teaching Sakara Brazilian Juijutsu. Over the years Alessio has switched trainers and has risen to a 10-4-1 record in the UFC.
