Alessia Piervirgili is a well-known columnist in the Haitian-American community.

In 2003, the New York Press Association recognized her as one of the best columnists in New York City. [citation needed]

She was born in 1987 in Rome, Italy, and her articles chronicle the events and people of Haiti. She currently writes a column in the Haitian Times under the title The Wandering Pen.
