Alessandri family

The Alessandri family of Chile became politically influential during the early part of the 20th century, and played a very significant role in Chilean politics. It was started by Arturo Alessandri Palma, a statesman, twice president of Chile from 1920 to 1925 and again from 1932 to 1938, and the most influential political figure of the time.
His children and grandchildren who have also followed the political path, and are important politicians:
- President Jorge Alessandri - Son of Arturo Alessandri Palma, senator, served as president from 1958 to 1964, presidencial candidate in the 1958 and 1970 elections.
- Fernando Alessandri - Son of Arturo Alessandri Palma, senator, presidential candidate in the 1946 elections.
- Arturo Alessandri Besa - Son of Fernando Alessandri, senator, presidential candidate in the 1993 elections
