Aleksin

Aleksin (Russian: Але́ксин) is a town in Tula Oblast, Russia. It is located 71 km northwest of Tula, at . The population as of the 2002 Census was 68,156. It is the administrative center of Aleksinsky District.

The town was first mentioned in 1348 in the Nikon Chronicle. Because of its situation on the Oka River it was, for a while, an important inland port.
