Alcanena (pron. IPA: [aɫkɐ'nenɐ]) is a municipality in Portugal with a total area of 127 km² and a total population of 14,709 inhabitants.

The municipality is composed of ten parishes, and is located in the district of Santarém.

The current Mayor is Luís Manuel da Silva Azevedo (Independent) and the president of the Municipal Assembly is António José Ferreira Branco (Independent).

The municipal holiday is Ascension Day.
