Albin Kurti

Albin Kurti (born 24 March 1975, in Priština, Kosovo) is the leading activist behind VETËVENDOSJE!. He was charged with "jeopardising Yugoslavia's territorial integrity and conspiring to commit an enemy activity linked to terrorism," a crime that carries maximum penalty of 20 years' imprisonment. Kurti was arrested in Kosovo in April during NATO's air strikes on Yugoslavia. He also organized student demonstrations in Kosovo and worked for Adem Demaçi, the former political representative of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), which fought Yugoslav security forces for more than a year.
