Albia
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Albia is the name of the fictional disc world in the Creatures series, the original home to the Shee, Norns, Ettins, and Grendels. It is featured in the original Creatures and its sequel, Creatures 2. Albia contains a desert, a jungle, and a volcano. The areas are divided by two oceans, referred to as the eastern and western oceans.
[edit] Geology
Albia, like Arde, is disc-shaped. Due to this, all life on Albia is trapped at the rim. Unlike Arde, however, plants and creatures seem to have no special adaptations for the task of walking past each other. When the Lone Shee left Albia, the energy needed to free his ship from the planet caused large amounts of seismic activity, changing Albia's surface and unearthing secret Shee laboratories for the player's use in Creatures 2.
[edit] Ecosystem (Creatures 2)
Albia has a detailed ecosystem, comprised of plants, insects, mammals, fish, and fungi, and works much like Earth's, though Albia's ecosystem can easily repair itself in a short amount of time, given that the species of organism wasn't completely destroyed.
However, there are seed dispensers, small machines that disperse seeds for all types of life, except mammals. A species can be recreated this way.
