Alberta provincial highway 28 is an east-west highway located in north central Alberta extending from the city of Edmonton to the city of Cold Lake.

The highway begins in the city of Edmonton at the junction of Highway 16 (Yellowhead Highway) and 97 Street NW.

  • 20 km - Proceeds north through the city and crosses Highway 37
  • 39 km - Reaches Highway 803 and turns east
  • 45 km - Passes by the town of Bon Accord
  • 51 km - Meets Highway 28A and Highway 643 at the town of Gibbons and turns north
  • 62 km - Meets Highway 651 and turns east
  • 72 km - Meets Highway 38 (just west of the town of Redwater) and turns north
  • 81 km - Meets Highway 827 (which leads to the hamlet of Egremont) and turns northeast
  • 88 km - Highway 63 branches off to the north; Highway 829 branches to the south
  • 94 km - Passes by the hamlet of Radway
  • 106 km - Crosses Highway 831 and passes by the village of Waskatenau and turns east
  • 116 km - Passes by the hamlet of Warspite
  • 127 km - Crosses Highway 855 and passes by the town of Smoky Lake
  • 149 km - Crosses Highway 857 and the entrance into the hamlet of Bellis
  • 157 km - Highway 36 from the north joins Highway 28
  • 164 km - Passes the village of Vilna where Highway 859 branches off to the south
  • 176 km - passes by the hamlet of Spedden and the road that leads to Garner Lake Provincial Park
  • 178 km - Highway 866 branches off to the north
  • 188 km - At the corner of the hamlet of Ashmont, Highway 28A branches off to the northeast while Highway 28 and Highway 36 go south
  • 204 km - At the corner of the hamlet of St. Brides, Highway 36 continues south while Highway 28 turns east
  • 220 km - Passes the town of St. Paul and crosses Highway 881
  • 248 km - Meets and joins Highway 41 and turns north
  • 263 km - After entering the Kehewin Indian Reserve 123, Highway 41 branches off to the east merging with Highway 657
  • 272 km - Joins with Highway 28A at the hamlet of Hoselaw and turns northeast
  • 290 km - Passes through the town of Bonnyville where Highway 41 branches off to the North; Highway 659 branches to the east; and Highway 28 moves to the northwest.
  • 294 km - Crosses Highway 660
  • 301 km - Highway 657 branches off to the south at Fort Kent
  • 309 km - Crosses Highway 892 at the hamlet of Ardmore
  • 315 km - Enters the Cold Lake Indian Reserve 149
  • 328 km - Passes by the hamlet of Beaver Crossing and turns north after joining with Highway 55 from Saskatchewan
  • 338 km - Reaches the city of Cold Lake and ends at the Cold Lake Marina.
