The Alberta Caledonia Pipe Band is one of North America's leading competitive pipe bands. They draw their membership from throughout the Calgary-Edmonton Corridor. The band has traveled to Scotland to compete in the World Pipe Band Championships every year since 2000. The band is registered with the Alberta Society of Pipers and Drummers, but tends to do only two or three competitions in their home province per year. They also frequently travel to British Columbia to compete against the Simon Fraser University Pipe Band, the closest rival Grade I pipe band geographically.
