Albanian Mobile Communications

Albanian Mobile Communications (AMC), headquartered in Tirana and launched in May 1996, is the first Albanian mobile phone operator.

In 2000, Cosmo-Holding Albania S.A. acquired an 85% stake on AMC for $85.6 million. Cosmo-Holding is owned by the Greek mobile phone operator Cosmote. In 2004, AMC was the largest phone company in Albania with 639 thousand clients, 121 million euro in revenues, and 35.5 million euro in net profits.
