The Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, a non-profit organization, is located on 140 acres at the southern edge of Turnagain Arm and the entrance to Portage Valley in the Municipality of Anchorage. It is a refuge for orphaned or injured wildlife such as bears, moose, musk ox, deer, caribou, and birds, which are cared for in large habitats.

Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center offers educational programs and tours in self-guided, drive-through or walk-through formats. The Center opened to the public in 1993, and is open every day year-round.
