[edit] Requested move

The following discussion is an archived debate of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the debate was page moved to Al Snow. Eugène van der Pijll 16:47, 28 June 2006 (UTC)

Allen Sarven → Al Snow – Sarven has wrestled as "Al Snow" for over a decade. "Al Snow" returns 242,000 Google search results; "Allen Sarven" just 2,070. This will enable more direct linking. McPhail 23:50, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

  • Weak oppose, appreciate the rationale and McPhail's obvious expertise here but convention appears to be that a wrestler's real name should be the main title, especially if that's already the case. Linking isn't a problem with "Al Snow" (and other ring names) redirecting straight to "Allen Sarven". Deizio talk 23:56, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
  • Support as per WP:NAME. --JFred 05:44, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
  • Support It was his prima ring name.(Halbared 06:38, 20 June 2006 (UTC))
  • Support He is always going to be referred to on TV and wrestling media as Al Snow. His semi-retired state also makes it highly unlikely he will be changing names.--Darren Jowalsen 14:40, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
  • Support We at WP:PW should stick to kayfabe whenever we can - fewer conflicts with WP:NC. kelvSYC 17:39, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
  • Oppose There seems to be too much precedent for naming wrestlers' pages after the wrestler's real name. "Sylvester Ritter" is JYD's page, Mark Calaway is Undertaker's page, Booker Huffman is Booker T's page, etc. Davemcarlson 22:50, 26 June 2006 (UTC)

Well, Booker T is there because it would require "(wrestler)" if at Booker T (which is currently a DAB page), and Mark Calaway to Undertaker is another current WP:RM. Tromboneguy0186 03:31, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

And according to WP:NAME, JYD should be at Junkyard Dog. There is also a proposal to move the Undertaker to that name. --Dubhagan 15:54, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

JYD is also being proposed for a page name move. --Dubhagan 16:01, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
