Al Jazeera Sports

Al Jazeera Sports (Arabic: الجزيرة الرياضية) is a popular Arabic-language sports channel launched in November 2003 by the well-known Al Jazeera news channel. It has quickly grown to be the most popular sports channel in the Middle East and has covered a wide range of major sporting events such as the Euro 2004 soccer games in Portugal and the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens.
Al Jazeera sports channel is based in Qatar, unlike Al Jazeera channel, it is not based in the TV same complex in Qatar, but in the Education City. Notable events which Al Jazeera Sports has broadcasting rights to include: English FA Cup, Italian Serie A, Spanish La Liga, Portuguese SuperLiga, Qatar League, 2006 African Cup of Nations and the Carling Cup.
