Al Hammadi

Al Hammadi is an Arabic tribe who immigrated long ago to Iran. Its home towns are Morbagh, Moqam and other towns. They speak a dialect of Arabic.

Their origins come from the town of Udaid, between Qatar and Saudi Arabia. They were very well known for their hospitality. Among the tribe there is a Sheikh who belongs to the elite family or the ruling family within the tribe. The sheikh appoints walayi (mayors) to each village and town. Some of the islands in the Persian Gulf such as (Qeshm, Lavan, and Jassem) belong to the tribe. The most notable figure in the Tribe is Sheikh Ali Alhammadi who was honoured by the Shah of Iran for stablising the coast of Iran.

The tribe started losing its power on the coast after Mohd Reza Shah came to power and decided to use police in every area in Iran. The tribe faced some difficulties in dealing with the central government in Tehran, so they decided to move to the other side of the Persian Gulf where they settled and were granted nationality.

The majority of Al Hammadi tribe settled in the UAE, and in Korfakkan town, on the Oman sea, which belongs to Emirate of Sharjah.Template:Uae-stub
