Al-Muhajabah

Laura Poyneer, a weblogger who posts under the pseudonym of Al-Muhajabah (Arabic: 'woman who wears hijab') is a convert to Islam living in Seattle, Washington. She was one of the first well-known Muslim bloggers.
Her personal weblog is known as veiled4allah. Other blogs on her website include "The Niqabi Paralegal" (blog on legal issues relevant to Muslims), "A Qur'anic Journal", and "The Clipboard" - a review of current news topics. She currently works for Six Apart, manufacturer of the Movable Type blogging software.
She studied physics at the Johns Hopkins University. During the 2004 US presidential election campaign she supported the liberal Democratic candidate Dennis Kucinich.
