Al-Hadid

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Surat Al-Hadid (Arabic: سورة الحديد ) (The Iron) is the 57th sura of the Qur'an with 29 ayat.

Al-Hadid is the 57th chapter (Sura), in order from the beginning of the Qur'an. Each letter of the Arabic alphabet is given an Abjad value. If one takes the words "Al-Hadid" and adds up all of the Arabic letters using Abjad, he will find that the sum is 57, the same number as the Sura.

The Qur'an says, "...We also sent down iron, with its mighty strength and many benefits for mankind…(57:25)" Modern day scientists have discovered that iron is made in the nucleus of big stars. When the star can no longer hold the iron, it explodes and causes a nova or a supernova. The sun cannot produce even one atom of iron. It is believed that it would take four times the energy of the sun to produce even one atom of iron. This means that the sufficient amount of iron (which makes iron the third most abundant metal) we have on Earth was sent down from the explosions of other stars.

This same verse has the 26th reference to Allah from the beginning of the Sura. Miraculously, 26 is the atomic number for iron. Each chemical element has its unique atomic number. Also, the singular word Hadid adds up to 26 when using the Abjad numerical system.
