Akyem Bosome is a traditional geopolitical entity with a non-contiguous land mass in today's the Eastern and Ashanti / Asante region of Ghana. Its capital (?) is Akyem Swedru, a town with a population of approximately 10,000 people.
It was founded in 1831 through a purchase of land by Bosompem Ntow II from the Aduasa family of Barima Atwere of Akyem Wenchi, after which the Bosome people then migrated from the area around present day Lake Bosomtwi in Kokofu to take possession of the land.
Other Bosome settlements are: Adiemra, Amantia, Anamaase, Aperade, Babianeha, Brenase, Ofoase. There are also the settlements of Adieto and Yaapisaa at Kokofu, Ehwuren and Atafram, all in the Asante region, that owe allegiance to Akyem Bosome.
