December 12, 1976- Karachi National Stadium, Pakistan - World's Top Martial Artist Deciding Match.
Antonio Inoki (3R 1'05" TKO) Akram Pahalwan.
Inoki put armlock on Akram, who was widely dubbed as "the local hero who never gives up" amongst the Pakistani people.
Inoki used the chicken-wing armlock, one of the trademark moves of catch wrestling to actually break Akram's arm during the bout. By this loss, Akram's status in his country fell down while Inoki was given the status of the top martial arts fighter around the world as he defeated yet another champion representing a discipline of martial arts challenging Inoki's Strong style professional wrestling, one of the founding influences of shoot wrestling.
