[edit] edits to The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy

I did not revert your edits to The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy; they were reverted by someone else. The edits I reverted were not yours, unless you're deliberately not signing in to try to avoid violating WP:3RR. dcandeto 16:00, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] better late than never?

I bit delayed:
Welcome!

Hello Akolsrud, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of your edits have not conformed to Wikipedia's Neutral Point of View policy, and have been reverted. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media.

There's a page about the NPOV policy that has tips on how to effectively write about disparate points of view without compromising the NPOV status of the article as a whole. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!

And I would also add: please review the different policy sections above. And a few comments about your edits so far:

  • Firstly: be very, very careful about removing properly sourced material here on WP. That is why I reverted you above.
  • Secondly: make sure that the material that you want to insert is properly sourced. If not, you might expect anyone to remove it. There are several problems about this addition:

"The authors of the paper who are highly respected, Mearsheimer and Walt, have been, after the publish, under severe political and academic smear campaign. The first reaction towards this paper (as with all criticism of Israel) is that they are anti-Semitic. Remember, there are huge amount of money at stake. The US aid to Israel in 2006 is 2.46 billion dollars (about 10% of total US foreign aid). Any attention to the details might put the US aid as well as Israeli-favorable US politics at stake, hence the fierce opposition to Mearsheimer and Walt. Most of the critics listed below are in fact Jewish or descendents of Jewish parent. However, the freedom of speech should prevail."

    • ...it is not sourced. Therefore, (and this is valid for all disputed articles, i.e. most articles in the Israel/Palestine area..) you might expect anyone to remove it without much explanation.
    • ...it has the tone -as somebody else wrote- of an editorial: Sentences like "Remember, there are huge amount of money at stake" and "However, the freedom of speech should prevail" belong (perhaps) in an editorial in a newspaper. They do definitely not belong in an encyclopedia (unless these words were uttered by a "notable" person and quoted the main-stream press. The you could list them as such.)
  • Thirdly: Be very careful of the 3RR rule!! (That is: no more than 3 reverts in 24 hours on any one article) Read the rule carefully, or you will be blocked..
  • Finally; I think the The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy is a horribly biased article as it is...but I would suggest that the way to approach it is to expand the section on what the paper actually say. I started [1] -some of it was later removed (I have not bothered reinserting it, as I have not edited this article much). Good luck, from a fellow Scandinavian, Huldra 19:06, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] WP:AIV

Please use WP:AIV only for reporting obvious vandalism, and not for content disputes. Thank you. Isopropyl 06:23, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hello

I know that this israeli lobby is doing great things but we can't do anything against this vanadlism of wikipedia by the admins themselves so be cool.i myself tried to prove this that this lobby influce is so much on media that the reports of the ambush by hezbollah being conducted on lebanase soil dissappered from the media but but many isaerli users argued to prove what the IDF claim.Yousaf465
