Akira Takano (高野 晶 Takano Akira?) is a character from the School Rumble anime/manga series.
President of the Tea Club and a close friend of Tenma, MIkoto and Eri. She is very perceptive, resourceful, intelligent, and also very mysterious. She has the ability to see through the true intentions of people and her enigmatic face always hides schemes she creates to help her friends or just to play pranks on her classmates. His favorite victim is Hanai who for some reason she dislikes. She also has a bad hobby of seeing other's reactions by telling them explosive information. Despite seeming emotionless she resources to extremes to protect her friends, like when Yakumo was being forced to kiss Harima during the school's play and she was the one who kissed him instead in order to save her from embarrassment.
Despite apparently she was well raised, Akira is very ambitious, always putting a lot of effort to earn money. Her official job is in a bookstore, but in a side story during summer break, Takano is seen as a Bodyguard protecting a young mafia heir in Italy. In the anime this scene is one of many computer generated scenes that are seen throughout the anime.
Akira has some uncommon hobbies such as planning war games and wearing full body costumes. In her class, she knows uncommon knowledge like Harima's cellphone number and also knows exactly who likes whom in class, but for unexplained reasons, stays silent on the matter, even knowing that Eri is in love with Harima who loves Tenma. Contrary to most of the other characters, she never misunderstand situations such as when Eri was caught by a naked Harima in an out-of-hand situation.
